What makes our martial arts system so unique from others is that we teach a street version of Mma, and I've been blessed enough to work with, and even train some of the best boxers, Kickboxers, and even UFC fighters.
We also have 40 years of experience in training, traditional, yet very effective martial arts classes to kids and adults. Our system is all inclusive, we teach striking, Grappling, and wrestling, as well as our battle proven fitness program CrossPit.
Our system, besides being well known for our punching power, take downs, and take down the fence, and great skill in defending and submitting our opponents. Even with all of our accolades, we are a very simple, traditional martial arts system, where we recognize progress with a traditional belt system.
So you can basically trained like an MMA fighter, you get the belt levels and recognition like a traditional martial artist. Definitely the best of both worlds.
My story
I grew up, fighting, and practicing martial arts. Growing up how I grew up, martial arts what is not a little luxury that I ask my mom to take me to a local dojo so I can learn fancy techniques and win trophies. I knew from a very early age that I was going to need martial arts to survive. So I looked in the Yellow Pages at 10 years old, was enamored by one of the pictures, so I called that martial arts school, I got their address, and after school, I walked to the bus stop, and took the bus to 404 Piikoi St. in Honolulu Hawai. I walked into that very small, about 500 ft.² martial arts schools. It was called Godin's school of self-defense, and there was a heavy bag, with a Makiwra on the the wall, the mat was very hard, and I found out over the next 30 years, so was the training. I got my humble, yet very hard core beginnings at this “notorious" martial arts school. It had a very rough reputation, and it was well deserved. I knew the second I walked into that room then I had found my home.
That was 1970 when I first walked through that door. Since then, and because of them, I fat amateur in professional, boxing, kickboxing, and no holds, barred fighting, I am fucked in the schoolyard, in the street, the system of Hawaiian tempo stayed with me from my entire life. It gives me comfort and confidence. I now dedicate my life to teaching others, whatever their reason. Some come for anti-bullying, others come for confidence, some come to lose weight, some come, because they want to win a UFC title, and I help all of these people every day.
