Today is G’Pa Hack’s Bday. Jim Hackleman is and always has been a very important part of The Pit. Jim, or grandpa hack as he is fondly known, works out at The Pit six days a week. The Fight team, the TapOut crew, everyone at The Pit watches in amazment as Jim can row, throw the medicine ball, or push the wheelbarrow up the PIT HILL like someone half his age (he turns 83 today). Superstars like Chuck Liddell, Matt Lindland, The Tapout Crew all know him well as G’Pa Hack. G’Pa supports the gym by showing up at all Pit events, attends all local and semi local fights (when a Pit fighter is competing), and he is a great representitive of what The Pit is truly about. G’Pa hack is a true warrior, and he is, and always has been a great father to me…. Happy Birthday Dad I love you

In a recent video interview with Sherdog.com, Liddell defended Hackleman and took the blame for the loss.
“We had a good game plan,” Liddell said, “and I got overzealous. … [Hackleman] told me before we went out for the second [round]: ‘Don’t chase him. Just take your time. Make him come to you.’ I didn’t listen. How are you going to blame him when I’m not listening?”
Liddell, who will turn 39 in December, acknowledged that he has some bad habits that must be worked on. He also discussed with Sherdog.com whether there is a blueprint for beating him that his opponents are following as well as whether another title shot is still realistic.
